Temporary Work Visa - Re-entry to Canada from London

Hello,

I am a current Temporary resident of Canada with a work permit. I left Canada about four days ago to attend a friend's wedding in England. The intention was to spend only three days then return to Canada. However on my way back, I was stopped at Amsterdam and was advised that my document didn't allow me reentry into Canada. Perhaps I made a mistake by not making thorough inquiry before departure. I have returned to the UK and trying to make my way back. I arrived Canada with a student permit and after a year a University in Manitoba, I obtained a Post graduation Work permit which I have used to fly. I believed that using the document along with my passport would be sufficient but apparently not.

Can someone advice me on the next step to take? I've been in England for two days since and I need to return to Canada to sort out Work issues immediately. I've tried to connect with the Canadian embassy in London but haven't got any response yet. I was advised to reapply for a visa from here, i dunno how that will work. Someone out there please help.

I am also facing the situation in india , were you able to get a
temporary resident visa?. Did you get back to Canada. if you did get a temporary resident visa,can you explain me the process how you did it & guide me in

If you have a TRV (Visa Counterfoil on your passport) - that allows multiple entry then you should be able to exit and come back to Canada as long as it is not expired.

If you do not have a TRV but only a Work permit - then you will need a TRV to enter Canada assuming you are not from VISA EXEMPT COUNTRIES.
