Does anyone know if one can change from a temporary work permit to an open work permit? I'm asking this because I am currently living in Ontario with a temporary work permit set to expire next year. However, my boyfriend of almost 3 years now will hopefully sponsor me after we have been living together for one year. Once we begin this process, it would be great if I could submit an open work permit application at the same time. However, I don't know if this would be granted given I currently hold a temporary work permit that won't expire until after we begin the process of sponsorship.
I'm not exactly sure how to go about work permits once we begin the sponsorship process. Any insight and advice is greatly appreciated. Many thanks!
