I am a foreign employee of a foreign company.
I am coming to Canada as a visitor while my Permanent Residence application is being processed. I would be unemployed (actually retired) once I arrive in Canada.
My employer has suggested I might continue to work for them either as an employee or a consultant while I am in Canada, on a temporary basis (basically until they can find a replacement).
This work would be for non-Canadian clients so I would not be in the Canadian labour force nor competing with it.
I can't find this situation referred to in my internet searches, as most discussions appear to involve a Canadian employer and foreign worker, as opposed to foreign employer and worker.
Can anyone offer a suggestion on how to resolve this? Obviously proper legal advice would be necessary but anything I can find out first will be nice to know.
Thanks.
