Hello everyone,

I came to Toronto with Global talent stream ( Temporary work permit) on September 2020 with LMIA. I have employer specific work permit for Research Scientist position, expiring September 2022. However, I was laid off due to the pandemic on May 2021. Now, I received another job offer as Scientist in Vancouver ( full time permanent). My employer will apply for LMIA for Research Scientist position. I really need help with the following questions because the new job offer requires me to secure my work permit until August 29,2021. If I cannot secure my work permit until then, the company will revoke the job offer. Could you please help me with the following questions, please?

-How can the employer expedite LMIA approval? Is there anything that I can provide to speed up the LMIA process? I have a letter from my previous employer stating that my employment came to an end due to covid pandemic. If I provide this letter, would it make the processing faster?

-I got Temporary work permit without IELTS when I applied Global talent stream from Singapore. Now, I still do not have IELTS. Do I have to have IELTS score to get TWP visa for this purpose? My Master Degree is from Australia, I have Turkish passport.

-I have lived and worked in Australia , Singapore, and Turkey for more than 1 year each countries. And when I applied TFW visa for the position I was laid off, I applied TFW in Singapore. And I submitted police certificate from Australia, Singapore, and Turkey. Can I use the same police certificate documents or do I have to obtain new police certificates to submit for TFW visa?

-when I applied TFW for the position I was laid off, I applied TFW in Singapore. And I submitted an upfront medical examination that time. Do I have to take a new medical examination and submit the new one for TFW for this purpose?

I really need help.
Thank you.

- The letter from your previous employer won't help your new LMIA to be processed faster. Your new employer needs to go through all of the steps including advertising. Some LMIAs can qualify for 10 day processing. See "Expedited Processing" here: https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/services/foreign-workers/median-wage/after-apply.html

- You don't need IELTS.

- I don't know the answers to your other two questions.

I am currently in Canada. If the company applies to LMIA under Global Talent Stream, Can I use that LMIA for TFW application applying in Canada? Please help.

I will not apply under GTS. I will apply TFW visa in Canada. I recently lost my job because of covid.
