Temporary work permit: Can I return to Canada from USA without a visa?

Hi all,

I am travelling by car to Seattle from the lower mainland (BC) on March 22, 2016 for my sisters wedding. I have a temporary work permit (under NAFTA), I am originally from mexico and have a current visitor visa for the USA. I applied for a visitor visa to return to Canada but am worried it will not be approved in time for the wedding. Can I return to Canada from the USA without a visa?

1 As long as your work permit is valid and you only go the US you will have no problems being readmitted.
