I have a super visa. Do I have to apply for a temporary resident visa? I guess I need to get one to apply for a driver's license and to open up a bank account.

Why would a VISITOR that is suppossed to be TEMPORARILY in Canada would need a driver's licence? Only people who are going to LIVE in Canada need that.

A TRV can't be used for getting a driver's licence nor a bank account.

Bank accounts are available for non-residents. Look for banks that have that service.

1- You don't need to have a TRV if you have a super visa
2- You can open an account as a non-resident. Some banks ask for a driver's license (either from Canada or the US) to open an account. Others just ask for a copy of your visa.
3- No idea whether you can apply for a driver's license

I was able to open up a bank account with my visa status. Since I plan to stay here for two years I want to have a driving license. Well, I found out that I can apply using my visa status. Thank you all.

Good for you Delphine and good to know that they issue a driver's license to visa holders.

You can get an Ontario drivers licence as a visitor. My wife did it before she got PR. Bring your licence and drivers abstract and then it will have to be certified here. It takes a few days then you can get a licence. I think that you have to get an Ontario licence if you are going to be in Ontario more than 90 days.
