my application for a temporary resident visa was refused and i have a Canadian Registered Nurse Exam to write on October 7th 2010 . I have written the exam twice, but was unsuccessful and this is my last chance to pass the exam . During my first attempt, i was pregnant and i had my baby in canada after the exam , I also have my application for permanent resident going now , and the status shows that it is in progress , i have submitted every documents including medicals , just waiting for passport request . Could all these be a factor to my refusal for a visitors visa to write my RN Exam which i have paid for . Please i need your response and advice.

Yes - your PR application could very likely be the reason why your TRV has been refused. TRVs are meant for people who want to come for a visit and have no intention of remaining long term. The fact that you have a PR application in progress clearly indicates that you plan to move to Canada permanently.

I thought as much scylla. Now i am planing to defer my Exam till february 2, 2011 , and reapply by december 2010 . I don't know much longer my application for PR will stay . I submitted my medicals early july , and the status has not changed yet and they have not indicated wheather they received my medicals. However, i need to write this exam so that i will be able to practice in canada as a nurse .Is it two early to re-apply december?. Thanks

I've heard one of my friend extend her status as a visitor for the reason of writing a CSC exam, because she has been trying for 2 times already, and not passed, so I think you can try this way too. as for your application of PR, I dont think its a reason that ur visitor visa was refused. If thats the only way u can do to keep a legal status during ur application process, then u have to do it,its a very reasonable solution.
