Hi I live and work in Bangkok Thailand, I have been with my Common-Law partner for 3 years and also have a baby 6 months old. I am in the process of doing the Temporary Resident Visa for my partner and would like to know your opinion on her chances to be accepted for a 2 week visit. As I mentioned I work in Bangkok so this is my 2 week vacation I am taking and will continue my job when returning to Thailand.

I have read on other posts that the Canadian Consulate tends to refuse entry because they are not sure the Thai person would return to Thailand, I just wonder if my situation makes any difference as I work here and will continue my job, so we must return.

Thanks

Ken

Well Ken
Its the same old story you got to prove that she will return home not you.You have to prove that she has enough ties in her home country to bring her back home. And she needs to show she has enough money in an account with her name on it to support her while she is here.
It seems like a lot of crap but the way they see it is what if you got into a fight and kicked her out while she was here,(needs to support herself)
And you haveing a job offer back in Thai is not showing she will return caus ethey think well once she is in Canada you can get a job here quit the one in Thai and there you have it she is here with you.
Hope this helps.

Hi thanks for the input, yes this makes sense to me. I will need to think it over as how to present it, as far as my partner having ties in Thailand, well she has land.

Thanks Again
