Temporary Resident Visa for Dependent Brother

Hi,

I am a Canadian PR and trying to apply Super Visa for my parents, but I also have a brother who is dependent on my parents as has few psychological issues. How do I go about applying a visa for him? He is 32, not working and has had the issue since his high school days, though he has completed his Bachelors in Engineering. How successful would I be in applying a visa for him. What type of documents are required?

He needs to submit a separate TRV application.

Generally speaking, it's important to submit things like proof of employment and property ownership, proof of assets and bank account showing sufficient funds to pay for the trip.

Given he's not working and doesn't really have ties, it will likely be difficult for him to get a TRV approved. But by all means give it a try. You might get lucky.

Thanks. My parents are taking care of all the expenses for him, parents have property, assets and funds in their name, so would explaining that in an "Explanation letter" be sufficient enough as proof or should I get something under my brother's name for showing his ties.

If the property isn’t in his name then not a tie since he is 32 years old. Putting something in his name now will only raise red flags. Not sure an explanation letter will help.

As already indicated your brother will be treated as a normal adult applying for a TRV so will be assessed on his ties to his home country like employment, property, etc., his own assets, previous international travel to countries like the US, UK, Australia, etc. He should only ask to visit for a short amount of time. The fact that your parents are applying for a supervisa will create concerns that your brother will want to stay for an extended amount of time in Canada. You should certainly apply but there are lots of obstacles for his application. Would suggest your parents plan a shorter trip to increase the chances of your brother being accepted although still will be quite challenging to get approved.
