Temporary resident visa application processing time

Hi, I am new to this site and don't know if I am posting in the right section but here goes:

I am here on a work permit which expired on may 31, 2012 along with my temporary resident visa but then I got extension on my work permit and it got extended for two more years till 2014 but the problem is only the work permit got extended and not the visa, so I applied for new trv on August 31, 2012 and they received the application on 4th September 2012.

Now the problem is, I need to go back to India on 20th October 2012. Will I get my passport back until then or is it going to take much longer?
Plzzzz reply ......in serious trouble right now....any replies will be greatly appreciated.

Let me guess, you applied for a new TRV at Vegreville? If so, they don't issue TRVs, you should have applied to CPP Ottawa. If you did apply to Ottawa, then the processing time is about 30 days.

TRV processing time is a month (or less as some had experience). But you should send it to the right processing office. TRV applications for in Canada applicants (Students/Workers) should be sent to CPP-Ottawa.

TRV processing is about a month on the average. Did you track your package? It was probably received on the 10th considering the 3rd is a holiday. You'll probably be receiving the passport first week of October.

Hello,

I was wondering if you have received your visa yet. I applied for mine on the 17th of September. They also increased the processing time to 75 days from 63 on the website. I have flight tickets booked for the 3rd of December (75 days being December 1st). I was worried that I might not receive mine on time.

i have completed my study in august 2012 and applied for my PGWP on 27th september and according to timing i am expecting to recieve my work permit on 1st dec 2012 . and i have my student visa valid upto 20 april 2013 . I have to attend my brothers marriage on 15 dec in india can i go out and come back to canada on this student visa anymore once i recieve my work permit or not?

i am interested in this too. The processing times on the CIC website show 90 days which seems a long long time to extend one's visitor visa.

I want to fly back home on the 18th of January. If i send my application two days from now I thought would have been enough time...but I could be wrong? Can someone tell me if im screwed.

I have applied my daughter under study permit. We sent the app in July @ CEM and had her medical exam done and sent on Sept 14, 2012. Anybody had an idea when are they going to approve the visa please? Thank you..

if your home country is India you can apply from india after you arrival. It will take only couple days to process!

I am applied for Temporary Resident Visa on jan 5 through paper based withi canada. Haven't heard anything yet. How long does it take to get passport?
