Hi to all seniors need some help..I applied my application online last Jan. 13,2015 for Student Permit inside canada for 2 years Post Graduate Program. I came to canada as visitor visa..I'm confused about the application form IMM5709E,in Question no.3 that I only checked *An initial study permit or extension of study.. My question : Should I also check *Initial temporary resident permit or extension of temporary resident? Do i need a Temporary Resident Permit to stay in canada while study? or It is enough the Student Permit to stay in canada when studying.

I have valid TRV visa which will expire on Jan.16,2016..but this comming May 2015 will be my 6 months stay in canada..

1. TRPs are only issued to persons who are inadmissible to Canada.
2. Student permit is sufficient, although it sounds like you would need a TRV to enter Canada.
3. It looks like you are using the wrong package. Visitors can't apply for a study permit in Canada (except in very specific circumstances) you have to apply to an office outside Canada, and would use this package: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/student.asp

I think you can able to apply study permit from within canada and I've read lots of link for these:http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=483&t=15. thanks

You can only apply for a study permit from within Canada if you meet certain specific conditions. Being a visitor to Canada isn't one of them. If you are a visitor to Canada you need to apply for the study permit outside of Canada. If you try applying using the in Canada process, you will be refused.

Really? is this the new rule? My husband and I were considering of applying for visitors visa after he gets his education accredited by the Alliance so then he can continue further studies there if needed for him to register for his license.

Applying for a study permit from within Canada
If you are in Canada as a visitor and wish to apply for a study permit to attend a designated learning institution, you may be able to do so from within Canada. As of June 1, 2014, certain foreign nationals may apply for and receive a study permit from within Canada. These include:

minor children studying at the primary or secondary level;
exchange or visiting students; and
students who have completed a short-term course or program of study that is a condition for acceptance at a designated institution.

Hello
I am under a family sponsorship process, but I have a criminal record in USA and I was deported from Canada, my Individual Rehabilitation application was received by the Office of CIC in Mexico, in April 2018, my question is Can I request a TRP to go see my wife who is very sick?

I'll apreciate your coments?

Yes - you can certainly try requesting a TRP. It's not possible for any of us to say if it will be approved or not.
