I am a temporary resident currently in the UK. Ive been here for 3 motnhs.
I was born in South Africa & i am currently a South African citizen.
I just moved from Canada, I was there for about 3 years.
I would like to go back and visit asap. I need to know what sort of visa I need or if i even need one?
Im on a multiple-entry visa, which expires in 2013..not too sure if that would mean i could enter Canada without a holiday visa? OR would i have to apply for some other sort of visa.
Please & thank you in advance for all the help.

As long as you have a valid multiple entry Canadian visa, you can enter as a visitor at any time up to it's expiry. You don't require anything else. Read your other post, it appears you have a multiple entry UK visa. Therefor as SA citizen, you require a TRV (Visitor visa) to enter Canada. You can apply at CHC in London. http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/united_kingdom-royaume_uni/visas/visit-visite.aspx

I'm trying very hard to understand this. Just before I left Canada, my father applied for a visa in order for me to join him in the UK. In my passport, On my visa it states that I have a multiple entry visa. Wouldn't that mean that I am able to enter Canada multiple times, in the time period of which of expires..which is in 2013.

You must have more than one visa -

I assume that one visa that you have, was to enter the UK - granted/issued by the UK ? This has nothing to do with Canadian entry.

You should also have a visa issued by the Canadian government?

If you have a Canadian multiple entry visa that has not expired you can visit Canada.

Yes. Sounds more like it.
I do don't have any Canadian visa, that expired last year before I came to the UK.
So I would need to apply for a visa to visit Canada? Would I be able to apply for a multiple entry visa to Canada, since I plan on visiting throughout the year.

Okay I understand that. But whats the purpose of me having a multiple entry visa then? The whole purpose of that visa is to enter a country multiple times..if I was living in Canada, shouldnt I be able to return to Canada on the visa that I have, then come back to the UK..?

You need to be more precise about what visa you are discussing.
I assume you are not a Permanent Resident of Canada.

I think that he UK visa that you have is only about multiple entry into the UK, the UK does not really care where you go when you leave.
The airline does care about where you go, because if you are not allowed in, they pay.
Also any country you want to travel to (except your country of citizenship) cares that you have the correct documentation.
But as I understand it, a SA citizen cannot legally enter Canada without a valid Canadian visa (unless they hold Canadian PR).
