Hello guys
ramadan kareem,

I have got a temporary work permit to canada. I am looking for a faster way to get my family vis to come with me.
I read about a temporary resident. Is it the same as a visitor?
If I apply for SOWP, it may take many months from here Abu Dhabi. But visitor takes 2weeks. And I read that once you have a temporary residence valid for more than 6 months you can apply for a OWP. My wife is planing to work, in case she finds. So I understood that this way is the fastest to get my wife with me.

Am I wrong?

Thank you,

Yes - a temporary resident visa is a visitor visa.

No - you cannot apply for an OWP if you have a TRV that is valid for six months. You have misunderstood the rule. This rule applies to TRPs (temporary resident permits). TRVs and TRPs are two completely different things. TRPs are special and very difficult to obtain permits that are granted to individual who are otherwise inadmissible to Canada (typically due to a crime).

Thank you for the information. So if my wife accompaign me as a visitor, thete is noway to work in canada during our three years contract? Cant we apply for a SOWP from canada. The thing is that owp takes too long to process, and we prefer to go togather within a month.
