Sask never signed on so did they issue you a support letter to apply? Only Alberta, Manitoba and Yukon did.
I got a nomination letter under the Sask PNP - workers with existing work permit. The requirement for this is to work 6 months in the province and get an SINP Job Approval Letter through your employer.
I was also issued a support letter to use to apply for work permit extension. After submitting my PR application via non express entering route, i applied for my work permit extension.

This is an employer supported stream. So you need to continue working for your current employer who supported your application until you have PR. If you applied for a work permit extension, then you can continue working. You have no need for the open work permit.

This policy doesn’t apply to you as Saskatchewan didn’t sign on to this temporary measure, and even if the province was you would not be eligible. You are not eligible for an open work permit as you are under an employer supported stream.
