Temporary foreign workers! How was your TFW visa entry?

After many months of collecting documents, I got my TFW visa. I have not entered Canada yet. Suddenly, the employer on the basis of which we did this visa changed his mind and said that they did not want me in the office full time anymore. However, we maintained a good relationship and I continue to work with them.
I know that I cannot come and stay in Canada without joining this employer for work.

However, the visa is already pasted in my and my wife's passport. Question - can I use my TFW visa as a tourist visa by just entering Canada for a couple months?

If there are any holders of this visa here, how exactly did you enter the Canada? Did the border officer do any additional checks on you?

Or maybe I can somehow change this visa type when I will enter Canada...?

You can not enter Canada on a TFW visa without the intention to work. To enter as a temporary resident you must have 2 pieces of proof: study visa with study permit and work visa with work permit. CBSA will ask you about your work arrangement to confirm your work permit. If you can not provide them with a credible response they will revoke the work visa at the port of entry and send you back home.

If you want to be a tourist, apply for a tourist visa.
