Hi!

Alrite my question here is for the experts already living in Canada. Guys, can I find temporary accommodation in Toronto where I can live for one week? Or are the accommodations based on monthly setups?

The actual place where I am going to stay will not be free until 1st May and I am looking for temporary accommodations in the mean time.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Grazie.

You can try a motel/hotel. But that would be expensive. The best option would be your college/univ residence. They offer daily rates which are pretty high but definitely cheaper than a hotel. Speak to your college.

They are usually on a dual sharing basis with a small kitchenette and a shared bathroom. Two bedrooms. The kitchenette has a microwave and a fridge.

Thank You for the reply. I will check with my University if they can arrange the accommodation.

Are there any other alternatives? I mean I have heard about hostels and such that offer cheap accommodations.

Hi,

Usually the cheapest you can go is with a hostel, so search something like hostelworld.com to see
what the prices look like. If you are willing to be in a shared room, this can go as cheap as $10-20
per night. There is also YMCA, I'm sure they have a branch in Toronto and it should be reasonably
priced.

Finally, if you are very serious about saving, you can try couchsurfing.org and ask individuals to stay
at their place for free. However you do have to spend some time creating a nice page for yourself,
and also people are more likely to accept somebody who has used couchsurfing before and has some
feedback, networking is quite important to have a good couchsurfing profile..

Best of luck to you.
