In order to be eligible to claim points for the French language skills for Quebec immigration, could we only appear for the TEFAQ or TCFQ which only test the following:
Oral comprehension (Listening)
Oral expression (Speaking)

The Quebec application requires only these two aspects of the test to determine points for French language. Quebec PNP doesn't require Reading and Writing skills to be evaluated.

In all other tests, we have to undergo all the 4 language tests. Hence wanted to confirm if we could attend only those related to Oral comprehension (Listening) and Oral expression (Speaking).

Pls check my this post on the link: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/quebec-applicants-lets-share-experience-t37196.0.html;msg1306174#msg1306174

comparing DELF/DALF with tef and tcf.
DELF/DALF is having level wise exams such as A1, A2 and so on, where you will be able to take exam as you pass one level after the other, but tef/tcf is not having any levels.
In TCF/TEF any person can take the test and based on the score he/she has achieved, it will be compared with equivalent levels of delf.
One more point with tef/tcf is that you can get different level scores for different sections of exam, such as in speaking, your score may be equivalent to B1 and in listening your score can be different, say, equivalent to B2. So you can get different points for different sections in tef/tcf.

Also delf has passing criteria for min score of 5 out of 25 in each section along with overall passing score of 50 out of 100.

Tcf/tef have no such passing score criteria.
TEFaQ / TCFQ are specific tests designed for quebec immigration purpose. It test only listening and speaking abilities of the individual. Rest of the things remains similar to TEF/TCF.

Alliance Francaise is the authorized body to conduct these tests world-wide.
However, one must check in his country of residence, if AF takes TEFaQ / TCFQ or not. In India, they offer TCF/TEF, but not TEFaQ / TCFQ.

thanks buddy :)
Is it possible to take delf in may then tef before the year ends? yes, you can take these tests as many times you want to in a year. However in DELF; you will be allowed to take test of one level obly after you have passed previous level of DELF. what score will they consider? for points allocation, your highest score/level will be considered. Say you cleared DELF A2 in may 2012 and u have submitted this result to them and then at the end of year you got B1 level score in listening and speaking of TEF, so here you must submit this higher score result of TEF, as you will get score accordingly.
i have noticed that delf is given 2 times a year while tef has a lot of exam dates.
different countries' AF have different schedules of dates for DELF and TEF.
Such as in my home country India, Delf is now arranged 3 times in a year, whereas TEF is arranged 4 times in a year. So it it better to check with your local centres of AF in your country for dates of DEFL and TEF.

thanks in advance and appreciate your detailed response regarding my prrevious post.
