Good day. I am currently employed as a homebased worker and am employed for 5+ years in my company. How do I go about if I cannot provide proof of taxes?

Any help will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

What are you applying for? A visitor visa? Something else?

Stick with proof of funds limited to bank statements . Nobody submits their tax returns -thats the job of local government where you stay to figure out.

For visitor visa you just need to demonstrate your financial ability to incur the expenses along with the intention of returning back.

Canadian govt is not bothered whether you pay taxes in your home country -its not their jurisdiction and headache either:)

Incorrect advice.

IRCC checklists specifically ask for tax declarations/returns (for most situations). This is to confirm that someone actually earns the income s/he claims (especially for self-employed applicants) and to confirm that the funds available for a visit match the income declared in the tax returns

Instead of taxes you can even highlight wages reported /approved labour certification /employment letter which states your annual income.

Thank you so much for your insights. I am aware that this is a big deal esp taxes should be paid and remitted. Is there any way I can show proof otherwise?

Thanking you guys in advance.

In Latin America it is very unusual that anyone submits tax declarations or returns. Personally I have never meet/heard anyone doing so (I think once I read around here someone that sent them).

Paystubs and bank statements are the common scenario,

Bryanna has a point, first check in the embassy that manages your case if tax returns are needed or are optional. This can be verified by downloading the checklist relevant to that office (google it).

If your office do not require them then do as avs189 mentions. Include what you have. You need savings that show you can afford the trip and a steady income. If you are self employed then receipts, or steady deposits to your bank account. If you do not have this then it will be very tough to prove you have an income if you do not have tax returns.

This might work... again it depends on the visa office. Some are stricter than others.

From Pakistan they only ask business registration which is our NTN but if we submit tax return that shows more details and ties for us with home land

Again, my deepest appreciation on all your replies and insights. This means a lot to me.

I will try my best to satisfy and support my application even without a tax declaration or attach something I may present as a substitute.

Have a nice day everyone.
