I will be moving to Canada for good next month.
I've set up a non-resident bank account and have been sending US dollars into that savings account earning interest.
Is the interest so earned not taxable? Bank told me they won't withhold tax nor send me any tax slip after year end. Is that right?
Also, do I need to worry about the taxes re my US dollars. Will there be a "deemed sale" on the day I become resident and so need to report taxes on the capital gains/losses?
