Syrian Or Libyan refugee in Ontario, Canada ?

Hi there, i'm a Syrian and i applied for a refugee in Nov,2011 . so i'm wondering how much longer would it take ?

-Does Syria considered as a fast tracked origin ?
-If i decided to transfer my application to a different province like Alberta or Newfoundland , would they consider the 6 months waiting in Ontario or are they going to start it from the scratch ?

-I came across someone's post , he is from Congo and he has been waiting for 5 years so far !!! am i going to wait that much ?

any Libyan refugee in this website to tell me how his/her process is going ?

There is no specific timeline for Syria. It will take as long as it takes.

Is there some particular reason there is a great rush needed? At this time you are safe waiting one would think.

If you plan to move to another province the Refugee Board office where your file was first sent will need to approve the transfer of the file and there would need to be a good reason to do so. Just in hope of speeding up the process, which is unlikely anyway, is not a good one. It is also possible that regardless where you are that the hearing could be done by video.

Also now that one location is closing for hearings it is possible the decisions could take even longer.
