Hi we are currently in the process to migrate to Canada through an agent. Our scores aren’t reaching 440 + and we are constantly trying our best on improving our ielts scores recently my spouse managed to score better and i contacted my agent to switch my spouse to the primary applicant which would up our score from 390 to 430 they said that they would charge me extra for that.
Does the migration/CRS site charge the agent extra when the switch is done?

There is nothing like switching primary applicant and secondary applicant. Your agent will just create a new profile with your spouse as primary applicant.

There is no fee/ charge for creating express entry profile.

IRCC charge you money only when you submit your documents (after getting ITA).

The fee per applicant is CAD 550 ( processing fee) plus CAD 490 ( Right to permanent residency fee). For any kids you have CAD 150 is the fee per child.

Also note RPRF is refunded if application is rejected.

In case the application is returned by IRCC
as incomplete, then processing fee is also refunded.

You can do express entry process at you own. Its staight and simple.

nope.. just like hitesh0414 said IRCC does not charge any money until actual submission of PR application. so in this case your agent is just trying to fleece extra money of you. tell them you've got another agent who will do it for you and see what they say about that

If you're asking your agent to do more work - then it makes sense you should be charged more money. They don't work for free. Applicants cannot be switched. A new profile has to be set up in the system.

If you don't want to pay, then you'll need to do it yourself.
