Switch Jobs After Getting AOR

I applied for my PR under the skilled workers with EMPLOYER SUPPORT scheme; my current company sponsored me. I just got my AOR in late April but no MR yet. Now I got a much better job offer in the same province. So are we able to switch jobs after getting AOR? What are the consequences of switching jobs? Is it gonna delay my PR application process or cause any other issues? Any information would be really appreciated guys.

What does it say on your current work permit? I'd expect that you'll unable to switch jobs if your employer sponsored you, as you probably have a closed work permit. If there is an employer named on your permit, you must work for that employer.

Thank you Quink. It's an open work permit. In my WP, it shows 'Employer:ANY'.

Well, this is the never ending discussion. I applied AINP trough employer-driven stream. My nomination was with no restrictions, applied for PR got an open work permit, so I should be able to change employer.

Yet some people here still argue and say that I will get in problems if I do. Probably NBUNB has an open work permit as well. So we CAN change employer, but because when we applied the application was employer-driven, then some people get worried about it.

Don't get me wrong, I am worried too. That's why if haven't changed employer yet. I really don't know what to do.

I keep insisting that if my nomination was open, and my work permit is open, how could this affect my PR process right? But who knows? It would be great to solve this once and for all, and get a clear answer on this.

Agreed with you. It's kinda never ending discussion. My PNP nomination was with no restrictions and I have an open work permit. So technically, as you said, we should be able to switch jobs but I have been told by some friends that it might cause delay of my PR application. In the contrary, I couldn't find any documents about it. Please share with us if anyone else has any link/document about switching jobs.

It's a lucrative job in my field and in the same province; otherwise I would have let it pass by. I hope someone has clear answers about it.

The confusion is whether it will affect your nomination, and to answer that question you need to get in charge with the PNP program in you province. Ask them if they will withdraw the nomination if you change employers, or whether there is anything you need to do. This is another one of those situations where there is a lot of theory going around on the forum, but someone is going to need to call and ask for an official answer to clear it up.

I Did called AINP quink. They told me: no problem, go for it.

In another thread a guy said that he called (sam thing) and they told him: "oooh your application could be at risk, send us your new information and we'll analyze and decide"

And I can assure you that if I call today, I'll receive another answer, different from the first two.

So who do we believe?

Thank you again Quink. I was also thinking of calling the PNP office but I am scared that they will ask to talk to my employer as I applied under the employer support scheme.

My employer wouldn't be a problem. I just don't want my application to be strangled because of the new job. It's frustrating that there is no specific documentation about it.

My current job is okay but not really passionate about it but the offer I got really good which is why I am exploring all the consequences of switching. Otherwise, I wouldn't have bothered.

Same thing, I'm just not passionate it about this one. I do ok, good position, don't mind it. But if I could get somewhere more passionate for me, I'll do it. Just want to be sure it won't bring me PR problems.
