Hi Everyone,

Just a quick question. I have already got my Canadian PR and will be landing in a week time. Here is my question related to my spouse name.

As in her Passport (Last Page)/ US State Id:
===============================
My Spouse First name : ABCDEF
My Spouse Surname name/ last name: GHIJKL MNOPQRSTXXNKJWLSE

But, in the CORP and in the Stamped visa page (in the pport), they are as below:
=========================================================
My Spouse First name : ABCDEF GHIJKL
My Spouse Surname name/ last name: MNOPQRSTXXNKJWLSE

I mean, a part of the surname has been taken and appended with the first name itself. (Eventhough I had given everything correctly in all the applications). What to do now?

Should i need to panic for this? or What shall i do? Will the immig officer stop me from getting an entry in the POE? or Will my PR card be denied if I ask for a correct format (as in the Passport)? or Should i need to be quiet in the POE and have it wrong in my PR Card as well ? In this case, there will be a conflict in the name forever and may face problems during the citizenship application...is it not? Please Advice.

rgds, Geo

As you have filed your application with correct names as in her passport and other documents, that documents are already with CIC. While entering the names in their system there has been some data entry error which has reflected by shuffling her names. However, I don't see any reason for panic. You have two option.

1. Return the COPR with passport to visa office for corrtection as the instruction/letter from visa office which you might have received indicates that if there is something wrong, you can return the COPR back for correction.

2. Just go ahead as it is and land. Once you meet the Immigration Officer at the destination airport counter or POE, during his brief interview you can tell the fact. He will be able to send your wife's correct name for PR Card processing and during that process it will get corrected.
