Sure shot way to get temporary visitor visa

Hi,
I plan to visit my nephew in Halifax. He is a permanent resident, has a good job and will be sending me an invitation letter also. I have never been on a foreign tour before. This is the first time i will be traveling outside India. I have been working in the same bank for last 30 years in India. i am married but my wife will not accompany me to the trip to canada. I have no kids.
What all do i need to do/prove to the visa office in order to secure the temporary resident/ visitor visa?

A letter of invitation does not guarantee that you will be issued a visa. Visa officers assess you to decide whether you meet the terms of Canada's immigration law.

Red flag..No travel history is a ground for refusal. How can you establish that you are a legit tourist if you've never been to other countries.

1. A valid purpose to go to Canada. Right now you can't say tourism as you've never stepped out of India.
2. Strong ties to go back to India. Your job, family, assets and properties.
3. Financial capability to travel. In simple terms.. money.

The OP can say tourism if they legitimately intend to be a tourist, but their travel history will not have much weight. It's just not quite correct to say that they cannot provide tourism as a purpose of visit.

am leaving my wife behind , I live in the house in her (my wife's)name in India.So practically I dont hav e much assets in India.The only positives are my job which is in india and my wife who will be staying back.
wil it help if the invitation letter states that my nephew will be spending money on my lodging and travel?
or If i attach the tickets of my sister(my nephews mother) who will be with her son in Halifax, when I also plan to visit him(my nephew).I could say that It will be good to spend time with my family in Halifax?

You have to be able to show that you have the funds to pay for your travels, without draining your savings, even if your nephew will be supporting while in Canada. Having more family in Canada will actually hurt your application not help it.
