Hello there!

I have just kickstarted the application to sponsor my husband (US) into Canada.
We have read over the complete guide and the checklist several times, we feel like we're about ready to get the paperwork going.

I have a quick question, and I may have missed this reading over the guide.
But I was under the impression that we would need supporting letters from our family and friends who have met the two of us. However I don't recall coming across anywhere being asked for affidavits.

Does anybody know if this is something that they still require?
We are legally married, he'll be staying in America during the process.

If so, I was under the impression that these would have to be signed and notarized?
Hoping to get a better grasp on this before reaching out to the friends and family.

Thanks for any help!

Straight up letters, don't need to be notarized.

Oh great!
I know that I'm probably overthinking a lot of this but, cover all the grounds I guess :)

Does anybody know of a resource that I could use to give my affidavits to use as a sample when writing their letters?

Letters are better written in the person's own words. They should say how they know you/spouse and something about your relationship being genuine.

Thanks!

Would you know if they have to formally address them in any certain way?

My thoughts were to include,
Their name
Address
How they know me
How long they've known me
When they first herd about my spouse
And talk about meeting him, spending time with us and add their own stories, events and feelings.

Print, Date & Sign?

That is fine. If there was a required format, it would be stated in the guide.
