Supporting documents

I am new to the forum so someone may already asked this: what are best supporting documents in additonal to those docs required by CIC for the first time? As I heard RQ rate is pretty high, I just want to score some points to avoid RQ by supplying some docs that may make CIC not to RQ my application.

Any thoughts?

No extra documents apart of checklist documents.
Make sure you have ready (have ready I mean gather and ready to send next day) in case you are required to provide:
- bank statements (checking/credit cards) for 4 years prior; investment(s) statements
- education records if you were in school and attended courses
- work records (T4, Notice of Assessment as a must; letter of employment, paystubs, contracts if you self-employed, financial statements if incorporated, etc if you like)
- lease agreement(s) or property documents for place you're living at
- utilities bills
- car(s) bill of sale; financing/lease and auto/home insurance
- health records
- dental claims or payments; any other medical claims or expenses
- status of family members (spouse, children)
- volunteer work
- affiliation (statements from fellow members) to religion groups
- if you traveled - hotel reservation (if holidays/breaks), flight tickets and boarding passes, visa translations if not english/french, etc
Of curse many of these mentioned are under "If Applicable".

Than would be general paper work you may need during the process of citizenship. Any complex situation of course requires appropriate documentation.

Good luck!

Hello everyone,

Valuable info., thanks.

I'm in the process of filling application for citizenship as well.
So, by "No extra documents apart of checklist documents." do you mean that; when sending application, we shouldn't include those "supporting documents" unless or until we're asked for it by CIC/cIRCC later on, if they do?

Thanks.
