Hi I am PR since last Nov.2013 but we arrived to Canada as a refugee claimant last June 2011. Parents of my wife have applied two times for temporary (Tourist) visa directly from Colombia (Original country), but the visas has been denied. We have a son 7 years old, and all of us wants that the grandparents of my son could come to visit him. Do you think that if we apply for a Supervisa Canada Immigration office (Canadian Embassy in Bogota) could approved the supervisa? what can you recommend us? we are very frustrated with the previous applications, and we want that our son can share time with his grandpas.
I appreciate if you can give any light, or any advice. Do you think that it is necessary to go through an immigration lawyer?. When the parents of my wife requested for the tourist visa the only negative point was about "your family ties in Canada and or in your country of residence".
