Hi guys, I need your guidance please.

My wife wants to invite her mother over on supervisa as we are expecting a baby in less than 6 months time, so if her mother can be with during that stage would be great. The situation is that my wife is a permanent resident but has $0 income. I am a citizen and have income to support my mother in law if she arrives.

How to file in this situation? Does my wife continue as regular filer providing her notice of assessment along with a letter explaining the situation and providing MY notice of assessment?

Also, when getting medical insurance, it begins on what date? The date the person arrives or the date we apply for insuacne. As they require 1 year proof of insurance, would that 1 year start before the application is even sent out, even after the processing time?

Hi,

How to file in this situation? Does my wife continue as regular filer providing her notice of assessment along with a letter explaining the situation and providing MY notice of assessment?
You and your wife must co-sign a letter of financial support to cover her expenses during her stay + copy of your marriage certificate + NOAs of yourself and your wife + any other financial investments/employment letters, etc

Also, when getting medical insurance, it begins on what date? The date the person arrives or the date we apply for insuacne. As they require 1 year proof of insurance, would that 1 year start before the application is even sent out, even after the processing time?
The medical insurance policy date would start from the date of your mom-in-law's intended departure from her home country.

One more question, where it says medical done within 12months, do I selecte No since there was no medical done? Any help would be greatly appreciated..
That's correct.

You can either wait for the visa office to send the request for medicals or do upfront medicals

Cheers
