Hello everyone,

My parents are planning to visit us in Canada for the first time. They have super visa. I have few following questions about their travel.

Do they need to have a medical exam before travelling? I know Covid-19 test is required.

Is there any flights restrictions from India to Canada except the direct flights?

Do they need to buy ticket for one way or round trip? They are planning to stay for 1 year?

Any suggestions and comments on the above queries are much appreciated.

1. Use this travel wizard. But AFAIK there can come in via indirect route (Mexico) etc. Thera are many Whatsapp and facebook groups discussing this.

2. Covid Test is required from a third country like mexico. India RTPCR is not accepted
3. One way ticket is fine but book a last minute fully refundable ticket just to be safe. If you use travel agents, they can book/hold a ticket too.

Medical was required to get the supervisa but a new one is not required. If they are not vaccinated they will need to do a 14 day quarantine upon arrival in Canada and will need a plan where they can quarantine away from non-travellers like a basement with bathroom or AirBnB. Proof of supervisa insurance is one of the documents that will be checked on arrival. Proof that they are parents of a PR or citizen will be needed to board the flight.
