I'm applying for my in-laws to visit to Canada on a Parental Super-Visa. My father-in-law completed a year mandatory national service, and I'm unsure of the wording of Question 4 of the Background Information section of IMM5257:

Did you serve in any military, militia, or civil defence unit or serve in a security organization or police force (including non obligatory national service, reserve or volunteer units)?
If it weren't for the part in parenthesis, I would put "yes" for sure. Is this the correct response for obligatory national service?
