Super Visa for Parents Questions -- Child (Sponsor) outside Canada ?

Hi all,

I have a Super Visa question. My wife is a Canadian citizen. Her father wants to apply a Super Visa to visit Canada for at most 2 years. However, my wife is currently working in the United States with me. Though her income is much higher than the minimum income threshold regulated by CIC and she can financially support her father during his stay in Canada, is her residing in Canada a strict requirement for the Super Visa application? Does anyone have any experience about getting a Super Visa while the children were outside Canada with sufficient financial support?

1. Yes, it is a strict requirement, funds to support super visa must be from Canadian sources.
