Hello,

Any help will be much appreciated.

I have been living in Canada since Apr,2015. I filed my income tax for the first year (2015-2016) and waiting to get notice of assessment from CRA.
I have following questions regarding super visa for my parents;

1- Do i need a bank statement under my parents name? Since i am the sponsor in the application to bear all the expenses for their visit?.
2- My parents are in Pakistan and i am in Canada. Can i submit the application in either of the two countries or i have to apply through Pakistan since my parents are there?
3- Can i be the sponsor in application as i will only have notice of assessment for one year?

Thanks.

1. Even though you will be bearing the expenses, it would help if your parents could show financial ties to Pakistan.
2. Your parents will have to apply for the visa from Pakistan. You can not do it on their behalf from here.
3. Yes. That said, if you could provide additional proof of your financial ability (employment letter, bank statements, etc.), it would really strengthen your application.

I have heard that you need the proof of sufficient funds for the last 3 years. Is this necessary to have the proof for 3 years as i have been in Canada for only 1 year?

3 years is not required. I applied and received a supervisa for my mother-in-law after being back in Canada for 6 months.
