Hello forumites,

I am hoping to get some help from the experienced forumites regarding Super Visa questions below.

1. My mother recently got Super Visa but some family things came up and she does not plan to visit within the dates specified in the invitation letter. Would it be ok if she visits at a later time outside of those planned dates or the first time entry needs to be as per invitation letter?

2. Since she will not be visiting, I will need to cancel the insurance policy. Can I buy the super visa insurance from a different company later when she come instead of buying the the policy from the same company that I submitted with TRV application?

3. Since Super visa allows for stay upto 2 years and medical insurance is purchased for one year. If she stays one year, then returns to home country for few months/days, and plans to visit again, will she need insurance for the second year too when she returns?

4. Can super visa be used as TRV for less than six months stay without the insurance? it is just for some general information. I will buy the insurance tho'

Thank you very much for reading this and your help.

1. Yes - that's fine.
2. Yes - you can do that.
3. If she is entering Canada on a super visa, she should be able to show proof of insurance.
4. See above. She should have proof of insurance.
