Hi,

I am a Canadian PR and wish to apply for my parents SUPER VISA application. I have few questions and seeking answer to them :

1) In application for visitor visa (IMM5257E) what to specify in "Funds available for my stay(CAD)"? CIC doesn't provide much details about it.
2) As Super visa allows stay of up to 2 years, is it mandatory to have a return ticket or can buy one way ticket at this moment.
3) As this requires family information from my parents perspective in form IMM5645, it would require my grand parents details. We may not have my grand parents DOB known (Apparently, nobody used to note DOBs during that era :) ) . What should I do about that?
4) I am married but living separately from my wife... so what do I do about that in letter of Invitation. please advise.
5) It doesn't explicitly state, but do i need to attach my parents tax returns and bank statement along with the application?

It would be a great help, if these questions can be answered.

Thank you

1) i think you just need to put something reasonable which is totally in line with the guest income. i don't believe they lay a lot of emphasis on that (based on experience)
2) you are not required to have a ticket during application process. all you need is just an itinerary
3) use unknown if there is any information you truly do not know the answer to
4) if you meet the LICO and you are solely sponsoring them, you can write the invitation and any other document yourself but ensure you indicate your correct marital status anywhere requested
5) it would be helpful to attach it as it demonstrates the ties to home

for supervisa, your documentation is most important and you should have as much as possible

good luck !!!

Hi all,

please suggest if you know about this or if your parents applied for a super visa with the intention to stay in canada for less than 6 months.

Can my parents apply for a super visa with the duration to stay in Canada for less than 6 months for eg. in their application can they show that they want to be in Canada from Aug 1, 2014 to Dec 31, 2014? Can their application be rejected on the basis that they should apply for normal TRV (Visitor visa) if they want to be in canada for less than 6 months because Super visa is intent for longer stays?

based on my experience, you don't have to much control of how their visa would be processed regardless of what type you apply for.

you could apply for regular visitor visa and be processed as Super Visa or vice versa

Good luck !!!!
