Hi there.. I just want to know if my mom was approved for super visa. This is the story, my mom applied for a regular visa in the Philippines and was approved to stay for 6months. We decided to extend her stay for another year. So, we applied her for an extension of stay (super visa) online. We have all the requirements (LICO, $100,000 medical insurance good for one year, etc). And then, after 5days i got an email (letter from cic) that my mom was approved and there's a separate documents that will be send by mail. When we received that said document, its just an extension for 6months and not the 2year extension that we expected for super visa. And also she needs to undergo medical exam. I don't know what's the point of medical exam if she was only approved for 6months stay.

Anyone with same situatiion? Please help! I need advice. And what will happen to the 1yr medical insurance? I'll just cancel it? I am so confused.

Your mother was approved for a regular visit visa extension - not a super visa.

You can't convert a regular visitor visa into a super visa by applying for an extension.

If you wanted a super visa for your mother, you should have applied for a brand new visitor visa (not an extension).
