HI there,
I have already applied for my mother's Super Visa . I also want to go ahead and apply for her Permanent Residency immediately.
Is that going to prevent her visit to Canada on the super visa ? I would like for the PR processing to proceed while she is here so we can be together most of the time.

Please advise.

Thanks very much !!

There should be no issues applying for both.

FYI - I don't think you qualify to apply for your mother's PR this year. According to your older posts you landed in Canada in 2011 and were previously living in the US. This means you unfortunately won't have the three years (2010, 2011 and 2012) of Canadian tax returns which are required to qualify to sponsor your mother.

Thanks for your response scylla.

However I wasnt able to find the requirement for the 3 years of tax documents.
This is the only thing I found which matches the forms .
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5196ETOC.asp
"•have an income that meets or exceeds the minimum necessary income, which is published yearly by the Canadian government in the Low-Income Cut-offs (LICO). You will have to provide us with documents that show your financial resources for the past 12 months and prove you are financially able to sponsor members of the family class. You may also have a co-signer. If you live in Quebec, see also Sponsors living in Quebec.
"

Can you send me a link to where you saw the 3 years of tax docs requirement ?
Thanks

That is not the guide for parent/grandparent sponsorship. See here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5772ETOC.asp

Here is the link you requested.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5772ETOC.asp

It lists the minimum income requirements for 2010, 2011 and 2012 for those applying in 2014 applications.

Thanks ! I see what you are saying - so I would need the notice of assessment for 2011, 2012 and 2013 before I can submit that application... right ?

If the total income of both my spouse and myself exceeded the LICO for 2011 ( yes you are right that I came to Canada in the last quarter and I alone don't meet the LICO) and the number of applications already submitted in 2014 haven't already exceeded 5000 by the time I have the 2013 notice of assessment , then do you think I would be able to apply this year ? I know that's very unlikely but just trying to get your ideas... I really want to submit the application this year if I can...

There is zero chance the program is still open by the time people start getting their NOAs for 2013 (prob around Feb this year). If you want to use 2011, 2012 and 2013 returns, you'll need to wait until the program re-opens again, which could be in Jan 2015.
