Super Visa and passpport Validity

Hi all,

I have two questions relevant to Super visa application and will appreciate if can get some advice on it;

1) What is the impact of passport validity on the number of years one can get with Super visa, e.g. if my parents have 9 months till passport expiry and we apply for super visa, should we expect 10 years of Super visa or ? (if we should renew the super visa to get the maximum duration)

2) In case, we have already completed the mandatory medical examination for super visa (with existing passport details, 9 months of validity) and we decide to renew the passport, whether the medical examination remains valid? (as it will not have updated information of the new passport etc)

Hi

1. CIC does not issue visas past passport expiry. If the passport expires in 9 months, the visa will only be valid for 9 months.

2. It doesn't matter what passport was used for the medical. The medical will still be valid.

Thanks Canuck_in_uk, small clarification on second point, do i need to inform CiC when applying that we have renewed the passport, to avoid any confusion due to previous passport details (9 months validity) on the medical exam letter we obtained after the medical?

No, you don't need to inform them.
