Super Visa 2nd attempt - Requst for passport

Hello

I applied for super visa for my widowed mom few months ago and it was rejected stating strong ties in Canada. Then I applied again through online providing more proof showing strong ties back home and now i got a letter stating "This is in reference to your application for temporary residence. A decision has been made on your application. We require your passport to finalize processing your application." Is it a good sign? The passport will be dropped off at VFS office soon but I am just curious to know whether it's a good news or anyone got rejected after requesting passport? Prior to this, they sent a letter requesting to complete the Biometric. I attached same medical results from previous application (which was done few months ago) as requested and it shows as passed online.

In nearly all cases a passport request means a positive decision. So your mom will most likely get the super visa

Hi there .. so what short of documents that you provide to show the ties. I am also planning to apply supervisa for my father, retired and widowed. I guess i can use your case to prepare for mine. I really appreciate you reply.

You must provide strong evidence that your father will be going back.

1) Asset info -> If he has a land / house under his name then provide the deed and certified valuation.
2) Financial status-> Bank statement, pension, fixed deposit & etc
3) Job -> If he is currently working / doing any temporary work, then provide proof of that
4) Family -> Does he has any son or daughter? or any close family he is living with? Get letters from them stating why he need to be back?
5) Religious ties -> If he is member of any religious organization then provide letter or proof from church, temple or mosque & etc
6) Strong Invitation Letter from you stating why you are inviting him? How long he will stay? Why he will be going back? You may list his daily activities and his active life style or any hobbies / work that he enjoys there & etc
7) Letter from your Member of parliament (you have to take all your proof and ask them provide a supporting letter. If you get this letter...you have a very good chance).
8) Any other documents, facts or pictures(not necessary) to proof strong ties back home.


Basically you have to convince the visa officer that above information are true and your father will be going back at the end of visa expiry. I will write more detail report later if my mom gets the Visa. In that report I will explain in details what I have done :-\

Thanks a lot for the info. Other than items 1) and 5), I can arrange all of the mentioned items . He does not have any property (he donated all his properties to charities, and now receiving pension and living with my brother). He is not a religious.

Anyway, I will wait for your "report".

How long did it take? I mean when did you apply and when was passport requested?

I used the checklist that had all the requirements including:

i) My birth certificate
ii)Invitation letter and promissory letters from me that I'll support her for the duration on her stay
iii) My NOA and Letter of Employment
iv) Her Business Registration
v) The medical insurance policy
vi) Also try including her medicals as well with the application makes the processing faster
vii) A travel itinerary and her travel history in the last 10yrs

Just follow the check list can't remember off the top of my head. It took about 6 months for it to be processed. But once I got the passport request it took a few days and she had her passport back with a visa valid till 2023.

My mom finally got the Visa ;D I applied on Nov 23rd and got Visa on Dec 11.
