Summer Student Work Experience

Hi All,

I am planning to enter the express pool however i am unsure if my work experience qualifies. I did an internship for 3 months after graduating from Algonquin College. So at the time i was not a student and the work was full time. The uncertainty is in the fact that the position was a summer student internship, and the program was made for students returning to school in the fall. I have 7 months of work experience and my permit is about to expire, hence why i need to know if the intern experience will be valid. Thanks in advance!

As long as:
1 - You were working on a PGWP or applied for one before working.
2 - Work was paid.
3 - NOC is of a skill type 0, A or B.

It will count if those 3 are met.

I had an open work permit/off campus permit when I started the internship. I applied for the PGWP beginning of July, 2 months after i started the internship.
