Hello,

After receiving ITA, and filling in some forms, one of the documents we need to submit is spouse name change.
Unfortunately, my spouse does not have the original document of previous marriage/divorce. She only has a photocopy. Would that be OK? Where I can find in the guidelines if photocopy is accepted/not accepted?

Since you don't have the original document, the best thing to do would be to upload the photocopy and write a letter of explanation.

Alternatively, your wife can get an affidavit saying that she's used her former married name in the past and uses her current married name now.

Good luck.

hi there
i don t really understand your case :
you had a good advice above. add a letter of explanation for every details you are having trouble with. i mean one letter for all.
but i thaught you are not married ? and you partner is still using her previous husband name? did she change her name somewhere?
