Submitting passport in LA VAC - same day service?

I received message to submit passport to the LA VAC for TRV.
If I go and drop it in person, can I expect same day service?

Apparently not. VAC replied to my email saying the usual processing time is 10-15 days.

Now another question for the forum-ers. In spite of the above email from VAC, will it expedite in any manner (even by a couple of days) if I drop the passport in person instead of mailing it?
