SUBMITTING PASSPORT FOR PR STAMP WHEN NOT IN CANADA??

Greetings,

I have couple of inquiries regarding the submission of passport for PR.

1. If i am not in country to submit my passport what is the procedure to ask for an extension of date for submitting the passport?

2.I have applied PR for my wife who is in India and for myself (Primary applicant). If cic asks to submit passport for PR, where should my wife submit the passport? Is it to Canadian embassy in Delhi/Bangalore?
