Hi All,

I would really appreciate your feedback on the below. I also request the seniors here to chime in with their 2 cents.

I have applied for PR in May 2014 and my application was received there on May 5, 2014. I got my file number and they had also asked my PCC from Canada as well as from India which were promptly sent. Now I am waiting for my medicals.

However, I am currently in India and was wondering whether to do my medicals in India and to request visa office change or to go to Canada just to the medicals and do it there if that makes things easy. I am planning to leave India to Canada in March only otherwise. I do not want any delay in processing.

My Questions:

  • If I ask for visa office change to New Delhi, would that delay the processing
  • If I go back to Canada in March of 2015, then I will have to re-change the visa office and that would delay the processing even more, right ?

Again, I would appreciate your advise.

Me again, I was wondering if I could do the medicals in India and send that by post directly to Canada without changing the visa office. Does anyone know if they would automatically change visa office if they see the medical was done in India ?

Hi, you can do your medicals in India when you get the medical requests.

In February, see where your application is at. Once you get your PPR, you will have 60 days to submit your passport. Take a call at the time when you get your PPR, whether you want to change your visa office.

Hi maniac2403,

Thank you very much for your feedback. If I do the medicals in India and send it to Ottawa through my attorney in Toronto, would CIC change my visa office to New Delhi or would that only happen by my request to do so. Thanks again

You do not send the medicals to CIC yourself, but the doctor will upload it to them. Your visa office will not change, unless you ask for it.
