Submitted PR Application & Wife Got Pregnant

Hi,

I have submitted immigration application on 10 May 2019 for three family members; me, wife and One year Old son. We have done the complete medical examination (IOM) on 2nd May 2019.

Now, probably two days ago, my wife found out that she is pregnant, and she is in her first month of pregnancy. So tentative delivery will be in month of Dec 2019 OR Jan 2020.

Hopefully by this time, I will receive my approval for Immigration, because mostly people are getting express entry PR approval in 6 month. Based on this, when I will get PR approval, my wife will be in her 7 or 8 month of pregnancy. Obviously at this time of pregnancy, we will prefer to have delivery in our native county.

Now, my question is; if I got the PR approval for 3 of us, what will happen to my 2nd child? How the new baby will get the PR? Do I have to go through again from the whole process? If no then how much time It will take to get the PR approval for the new baby?

You will have to notify CIC after the birth BEFORE you land. They will add newborn to existing application. Your newborn will have to do medical exam.

If you land before the birth of newborn, your newborn will be Canadian citizen if born in Canada.

How much time it will take to add new born baby in the application? So technically speaking, when I will add new born baby in the application, hopefully by that time my medical won't get expired, and I believe that medical expiry is linked with PR expiry. Do me nd wife have to appear for medical again?

Expect 3-4 months of additional time. If your medicals are expired by then, IRCC will either extend them or request new ones.
