Submitted paper application...what's next?

Hi,

I submitted an application for my husband's PR visa a month ago via registered mail (so I have confirmation that it's been received) and haven't heard anything. I tried linking the application online but it's prompting me for information (like an ID number or something) that I don't have.

I'm just wondering what to do/expect next? Should I expect some correspondence from CIC in the mail or through e-mail?

Any insight would be much appreciated.

Youll get an email with a uci and app number if all is good with app (nothing missing) 6-8 weeks after submission

It will take 6-8 weeks until you receive the Acknowledgement of Receipt. You will get this via email, and it will include your Application Number and UCI, and from there you can link it online with MyCIC and receive all future communications through your account.
