Submission of form BSF186 during soft landing

Hi,

I did my soft landing a year ago and was required to submit form BSF186 at that time. The category settler was used in the form submission (mean all individuals who enter Canada with the intention of establishing for the first time a residence for a period of not less than 12 months) although the officer was informed that I am soft landing for several days and had ongoing studies abroad at that time.

I am wondering if this would create issues upon returning? Would I be able to re-use the "settler" category since this is the first time I am intending to settle?

After your first landing, you can make multiple returning trips using the same stamped form until it is completed.
