Hello everyone,

I am in a bit of a complicated situation and I would really appreciate your advice. Here's a summary of my situation:

  • I had a work permit in Canada which expired just one day before I left the country.
  • Prior to the expiration of my work permit, I applied for a temporary residence visa extension, requesting a couple of days' extension to my stay.
  • As far as I understand, I was allowed to stay in the country while my temporary residence visa extension application was being processed.
  • I had a an ETA which was declared invalid i applied for a new one and it was approved instantly
Now, I am planning to return to Canada, I will be applying for a temporary work permit will what has happened affect my re-entry. I have already reached out to the IRCC via their web request form, but I am looking for advice from anyone who has experienced a similar situation or has any insights to share.

Could this situation have any impact on my re-entry to Canada, or would I be able to use my new ETA without any issues?

Thank you in advance for your help! I really appreciate any guidance or suggestions you can provide.

Best regards,
Tom
