My friend is planning to enroll for Masters programme through the Univesity of Calgary and he wants to take his family i.e. wife and children with him. Is there a provision for immigration if he applies for permanent residence from Canada itself after he completes his studies or there is no such provision. He plans to take up employment during and after the course. What is the procedures if allowed and how should he go through it??

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
If he studies for at least 2 years and works at a skilled job for a year after that, he could apply under Canadian Experience class. He could also look at the PNP in his province. Some of them have a class for graduates where you might need a job offer to apply or you might need to have worked for a few months. There is also employer support where the employer sponsors you under PNP.

You can see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.asp for the different immigration classes.
