Hi!
I'm doing the care for children pathway and I'm looking into applying for PR after 24 months working as a caregiver, one of the new requirements after the LCP (Live-in Caregiver Program) was over is having at least 1 year certificate or diploma from a Canadian School.

I don't have a degree from the country I was born so I need to do a canadian post degree.

My facts and doubts are:
- I found a few good classes at BCIT for example, I can only do it part-time for obvious reason, working full time.
- When I asked a consultant that helped me with my work visa she said I'll need a study permit since the course length is more than 6 months and do at least 9 credits per term.
- Once I have a study permit I'll be automatically considered a international student so will need to pay 2.5x the cost of the class, but I can't afford since the class will cost 85% of my annual income only with tuitions.
- I found a good part time class that fits my schedule at Langara College and the coordinator said if I do the part time class I can finish in 1 or 2 years, it all depends how many class I'll be taking per term and they don't require approval for that class so I could simply go there and take the class and once it finishes I'll get the certificate for that class and will be able to apply for PR with it and no needs for a study permit.

CIC don't have much information about kinds of classes, minimum credits or anything else.

I don't know what to do, I'm afraid to do the Langara College without a study permit and afterwards they won't accept my certificate but they might not even verify if I got a study permit for it.
I could take the BCIT class but how can a caregiver afford all the costs for it?
Academy of Learning for example they charge "resident" prices for caregiver but their classes are all from 8am-5pm so it makes impossible to apply.

How the government requires a canadian post degree for people who work full time (30 hours a week +)? I don't get it.

Thanks, I'm trying to figure this out but no solutions or help.
