Study permit

In condition my permit says that you may work on or off campus but in remarks it say unless you have completed your prerequisite program or course you can not work off campus. I got study permit on the basis of university of Manitoba but now i had change my institute to a college and doing 1 year diploma which doesn’t have any prerequisite program except entry test so i am eligible to work off campus or not? Please help asap.

No you can't work. You must change the conditions of your permit to allow work since your study permit has been changed to a new DLI.

I had transferred my DLI from previous to new institute now i can work or not. Because i had also asked my head of visa department of new institute they said you can work once dli is changed.

Did you complete a term / semester at the University of Manitoba before transfering DLIs?

I haven’t finished any semester in university of Manitoba. I applied in MITT and then applied for withdrawal before first term(UOM). And then MITT said you don’t need any new permit or amendments just change DLI and then you can work.

How long did you study at U of M? If you didn’t finish a semester you weren’t eligible to change DLIs, you needed a new study permit. Has the study permit change been approved though? You may have gotten lucky. Just changing DLI doesn’t necessarily change work conditions of the permit.

You need a completely new study permit to switch DLIs.

The advice MITT gave you is wrong. If you come to Canada and want to switch DLIs without completing at least one term / semester with your original DLI, then you need to apply for a brand new study permit before you can start your studies at your new school.

So your first issue is that you cannot use your current study permit to study at your new school. Working is out of the question until you fix this.
